A roof leak at Yen Nghia Station in Ha Dong District disrupted operations on Hanoi’s Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro line on May 23, after heavy rainfall and strong winds led to water flooding approximately 50 square metres of the station's second floor.

Footage showed water gushing through the ceiling and splashing across the floor, prompting passengers to avoid the affected area. Some used umbrellas indoors, while others moved away to avoid getting soaked or slipping.

A representative from Hanoi Metro attributed the leak to lingering damage from Typhoon Yagi, which struck the capital in September 2024. Although the company had reported the issue to the Hanoi Department of Construction, repairs have not yet been completed.

Later in the day, Hanoi Metro clarified that the leakage was due to a malfunction in the air-conditioning control system, not structural damage to the roof itself.

Since the Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro line was launched in November 2021, it has faced several technical issues, including instances of unexpected train stoppages, raising public concerns over service quality and safety.
