Over the recent years, traders at Dong Ba have had to display prices for their products. Regular inspections have been conducted. However, exorbitant prices have still been charged at the market, said Hoang Thi Nhu Thanh, head of the market’s management board.

According to Thanh, the board has actively urged traders to behave respectfully and honestly. Traders are asked to sell products of good quality, and not beg and rip off tourists. Any violation will be fined.
A reward of VND500,000 (USD20.6) will be given to people who report such incidents.
Dong Ba Market is home to 2,700 main stalls and 400 vendors with a total of around 3,000 traders. It serves around 10,000 people a day.
