Officers in Hoa Thang Commune said the birds were discovered on December 29 by a local resident, Huynh Van Thong, 29, who reported the case after being unable to identify an owner.
The birds were identified as silver pheasants (Lophura diardi), a species listed in Group IIB of Vietnam’s protected wildlife, which restricts exploitation and commercial use.
Silver pheasants are found in Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, typically inhabiting primary and secondary forests and areas with dense vegetation.
Authorities said they have completed the required procedures and are preparing to release the birds back into their natural habitat in line with current regulations.
