Forecasts from the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting show that a weak intensified cold air mass will affect the north on December 21, causing cloudy skies and light rain in several areas, including Hanoi, with colder conditions at night and in the early morning.

Around December 24 to 25, another strengthened cold air surge is expected to bring scattered light rain and a further drop in temperatures across the region.

Meteorologists said that from the night of December 20, areas from Quang Tri to Danang and the eastern parts of provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai are likely to see rain and showers, with isolated thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall. Other regions may experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, while remaining sunny during the day.
