The northern region of Vietnam faces a stronger cold surge with rain on December 17-18.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on the night of December 15 and during December 16, the north and north-central regions would have isolated rain and cold conditions, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.

Around December 17 to 18, northern Vietnam is expected to receive a strong cold air surge, bringing widespread rain and colder weather to many areas.

From Quang Tri to Danang, and in the eastern parts of Quang Ngai, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa, rain and scattered showers are forecast on the night of December 15 and during December 16, with thunderstorms in some places and localised heavy rainfall. Northern parts of the region will be cold, while the south will be cool.
