The rainy weather is forecasted to last until October 15 in the north with average rainfall of between 40-80mm, even reaching over 120mm in some areas. After that, heavy rains will return to this region from October 18-20.
Meanwhile, the central region from Nghe An to Thua Thien-Hue will continue to face heavy rains until October 14 with total rainfall of up to 500mm. Flash floods and landslides have been warned for these localities.
The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has asked localities from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai to take preventive measures against flash flooding and landslide risks, including the relocation of people.
