On February 10-11, the Four Paws Organisation and the Binh Duong forest protection force rescued the bears from three local farms. The animals are scheduled to be transferred to Ninh Binh Bear Sanctuary tomorrow, February 13.
The bears had been captive at the three farms for around 17 years. After being rescued, two of the three farms will be permanently closed.

Emily Lloyd, an expert from Four Paws, said that the bears face skin, kidney and bile problems. Two among them are overweight.
The bears will be taken care of at Ninh Binh Bear Sanctuary’s quarantine area for three weeks to begin their recuperation and help encourage their natural instincts to return.
According to Four Paws Director Ngo Thi Mai Huong, this was the organisation's biggest bear rescue campaign so far. The organisation has rescued 27 bears in Binh Duong alone.
