This year's National Day holiday will last four days, providing more opportunities to travel.
The high demand has pushed up prices on air tickets on many routes. The cheapest return air tickets of Vietnam Airlines’ Hanoi-HCM City flights on this occasion cost VND3.8 million (USD163.79), including taxes and surcharges. The price is around VND2.5 million and VND3.44 million for VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways respectively.
Flights to Da Lat, Phu Quoc or Danang have mostly sold out. On the HCM City-Phu Quoc route on September 1, Vietnam Airlines’ flights have just three empty seats. On the same day, there are only four empty seats on this route for Bamboo Airways.
Up to five among 10 flights of Vietnam Airlines’ HCM City-Danang flights scheduled to depart on September 1 have been fully booked.
The same situation has been reported on VietJet Air’s flights from HCM City to Danang on September 1.
Many travel firms have sold out domestic tours for the National Day holiday as the Covid-19 pandemic has been brought under control.
Nguyen Trong Anh, director of Anh Tour Company, said that most hotel rooms at popular tourist sites in the north of Vietnam have been booked for the National Day holiday. Hotel room prices for the holiday period are around 50 percent higher than usual. For several spots, including Sapa, Ha Long and Moc Chau, customers have to book at least two nights.
