Minh progresses to WBF World Championship quarterfinal

Leading Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh has narrowly defeated Spain’s Pablo Abian 2-1 in their World Badminton Federation World Championship round of 16 match on August 8.

Leading Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh has narrowly defeated Spain’s Pablo Abian 2-1 in their World Badminton Federation (WBF) World Championship round of 16 match on August 8.

Minh progresses to WBF World Championship quarterfinal - 1
Abian started strong, leaping out to an early lead after claiming the first set 21-15.

But Minh fought back, winning the second set 21-9, and capitalised on his momentum to take the match 21-10 in the third set.

He will now face the winner of the match between Denmark’s Jan O Jorgensen and Thailand’s Boonsak Ponsana in the championship’s quarterfinal.
