According to a representative from the airport’s management board, the airport has recorded three incidents in which flights were affected by straw burning around the airport, seven cases in which flights were hit by lasers and 10 cases related to kites and balloons so far this year.

There have been four cases in which flight crews reported encountering laser lights and unmanned aerial objects during approach, landing and takeoff in the districts of Dong Anh and Soc Son, threatening flight safety.

Police in Soc Son and Dong Anh recently found Mid-Autumn lanterns and kites flown near the airport. The police reminded and fined violators.

The airport’s management board has asked neighbouring communities to tighten supervision to help ensure flight safety.

Every year, Noi Bai International Airport cooperates with the Northern Airports Authority and local authorities located near the airport to raise people’s awareness of ensuring flight safety.
