Streets including Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Hung Dao, Le Lai, and Ba Trieu faced serious flooding following a four-hour downpour, causing difficulties for drivers.
Some shops had to close as water rose up to nearly one metre.
Many families have put up barriers at their gates or doors to prevent flood waters.
Flooding has occurred more often in recent years according to local residents, as the water drainage system has deteriorated. Local authorities have announced a plan to upgrade the system in the coming time.
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting forecasted that heavy rains and thunderstorms may continue in the central highlands region in the coming days.
