Students at Saigon University are required to dress neatly, modestly and appropriately for the academic environment.

In the newly released directive, dress code requirements are given particular emphasis. Students are required to dress neatly, modestly and appropriately for the academic environment, avoiding outfits deemed revealing or inappropriate.

For male students, acceptable attire includes T-shirts or collared shirts paired with trousers that reach the ankles, excluding clothing used for physical education or national defence classes.

For female students, outfits must not expose underwear or reveal the back, abdomen, chest, or waist. Dresses or skirts must reach at least knee length, except when used for physical education or defence training.

Beyond clothing, the code of conduct also requires students to wear ID cards on campus, behave respectfully towards faculty and staff, maintain civil interactions with peers, uphold academic integrity, and foster a courteous school environment. Students must refrain from making false statements that could damage the university’s reputation and are expected to maintain regular attendance and study diligently.

Prohibited behaviours include disrupting public order, using foul language, fighting, excessive displays of affection in public, carrying weapons, gambling, smoking (including e-cigarettes), using stimulants, and consuming alcohol within academic and administrative areas. Eating and drinking are also forbidden in classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, libraries, and other designated study spaces. Littering is strictly prohibited.

To enforce the rules, Saigon University has established a task force to conduct random inspections of student conduct and compliance with campus regulations.

Repeated violations will result in deductions from students’ conduct scores and may lead to disciplinary measures, including possible expulsion.

Saigon University is recognised as one of the leading pedagogical institutions in southern Vietnam.
