Police later coordinated with the city’s Immigration Department and concerned units to identify the man. By 3 pm, he was confirmed as Alvin, a Singaporean national, and his family was contacted.
His daughter, Jing Yi, then arrived at the station to take him home on the afternoon of the same day. She said her father had left the house around 1 am and gone missing, adding that December 12 was also his birthday.
She expressed gratitude to Ho Chi Minh City police for their prompt and dedicated support, which helped reunite the family on a special day.
