The large water park inside Tuoi Tre (Youth) Park, Hai Ba Trung District, has been abandoned for years despite supposedly being a key Hanoi leisure option.
Located at a prime location, the water park has pools and slides. Over 10 years ago, the water park was one of Hanoi's nine key entertainment projects and it was hoped to become a popular option for residents but it has been abandoned for years.
The 30-metre water slide, that was once considered the most modern slide in Hanoi, is now covered in dust and moss with rusty steel beams. All the stairs that lead to the pools or water slides now also become rusty or are damaged beyond repair.
Hanoi's authorities have decided to transfer Tuoi Tre Park, under the management of Hanoi Youth Investment and Services Company, to Hanoi Green Park JSC. The Department of Fiance and relevant agencies are asked to propose solutions to deal with financial problems of Tuoi Tre Park.
