According to the municipal Tourism Department, the festival will take place on December 2-4 at the pedestrian street area around Hoan Kiem Lake.
"The festival aims at introducing and promoting Ao dai as a symbol of the beauty and soul of Vietnamese women," the department said. "It is also expected to help boost tourism recovery in the capital city after the Covid-19 pandemic."
This is also a good chance for tourism firms to seek cooperation opportunities with ao dai fashion designers and artisans, the department added.
Visitors to the event will enjoy a show of Ao dai performed by domestic and international models.
