The decision by the Hanoi People’s Committee followed the local Department of Education and Training’s proposal to permit grade 1-6 pupils in 12 inner-city districts to attend in-person classes after a long online study due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pupils of grades 1 to 6 in all 12 inner-city districts of Hanoi will be allowed to return to school from February 21.
Schools are requested to ensure Covid-19 prevention regulations, including preparations for Covid-19 infection risks among their teachers and students.
Only teachers who have to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, are allowed for in-person classes.
The city has asked schools not to run day-boarding services or open canteens and only teach one session (morning or afternoon) per day.
In case of Covid-19 infections, schools need to follow instructions from the local board of Covid-19 prevention and control steering board.
Grade 1-6 pupils in Hanoi’s suburban districts returned to school from February 10.
