
The scene of the accident
According to the Provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, the blaze occurred at around 2.55 am at a shop selling electrical and plumbing equipment in Doan Ket Village, Hoa Phu Commune.
Firefighters were quickly dispatched with vehicles and dozens of officers to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading. The property was a single-storey house, with the affected area covering about 130 sq metres.
The fire claimed the lives of four family members, who died from smoke inhalation. They were identified as a couple aged 35 and 28 and their two sons aged eight and four.
A one-month-old baby, the couple’s youngest child, was rescued alive.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
