A representative of Road Management Company 226 said heavy rains sent soil and rocks cascading from uphill slopes onto many roads in Dien Bien.
At Km397+150 on National Highway 6, a landslide completely blocked the road. At Km433, floodwaters rose to the girders of Nam Nen Bridge, threatening its structural integrity.
