Well-known pop singer My Tam has recently become the first Vietnamese artist to be chosen as Youtube partner.

To become a partner of the world’s leading video sharing site, a Youtube user must meet numerous requests from the site. For example, he or she must have copyrights for videos posted on his/her channel, videos must be in high quality and attract a large number of viewers and his/her channel must have a large amount of subscribers.
“The videos featuring my latest songs “Chuyen Nhu Chua Bat Dau” (The Story Which Hasn’t Started Yet) and “Sai” (Wrong) earned more than 1 million views each within the first week posted on Youtube. That makes the site want me to be its partner,” the singer shared.
Tam added she also had to prove her copyrights to the music works which will be put on her page according to the site’s regulations.
In return, copyrights of all music works on the “My Tam official Youtube channel” will be guarded and protected by the video sharing site. Thus, the singer will also receive profits from ads on her page.
“I’m really happy with it. Becoming a Youtube partner is a good chance to promote Vietnam’s image and music to audiences around the world as well as to showcase high-quality videos,” Tam expressed.
My Tam is now one of the judges at the ongoing singing contest Vietnam Idol which is in its fourth year. She's also MTV EXIT’s representative in Vietnam.
