Dak Nong provincial authorities are now investigating a case where 32 primary school students were hospitalised after an explosion involving Chinese-made toys.
The explosion occurred at 1:30pm on January 16 in front of the Chu Van An Primary School. Lieutenant-Colonel Tran Khanh Du, from Dak Song District Police Department said, on the afternoon of January 17, that authorities had taken samples of the toys for testing.

Explosive toys confiscated
The primary school where it happened is located in Duc An Township. Students at the school bought toy grenades from a nearby shop and were playing with them. They are the suspected cause of the explosion.
After the incident, at least 32 students had to be taken to Dak Song District General Hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation and other injuries.
The students were discharged from the hospital a day later, after receiving medical care.
The toys, which are labelled in Chinese, included two small bags of white and pink powder. They were designed to cause a very small bang and not to be dangerous.
The initial investigation has found that the toys came from a shop in Buon Ma Thuot City.
