Dong Nai to build VND 4-trillion riverside road

The southern province of Dong Nai will break ground on a 4.6-kilometre road along the Cai River on February 3, with total investment nearing VND 4 trillion (USD 152 million).

The six-lane road, 32 metres wide, will run from Ha Huy Giap Street in Tran Bien Ward to Tran Quoc Toan Street in Tam Hiep Ward.

According to Dong Nai’s Department of Construction, the road will ease congestion at gateways into Bien Hoa’s urban core and enhance the riverside landscape alongside Cu Lao Pho Islet and a planned provincial administrative centre at the former Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park.

The work is considered a key infrastructure work to spur socio-economic development and create new urban space along the river. Land clearance will affect 430 households and four organisations, covering more than 16 hectares.

Earlier, on January 15, Dong Nai opened a separate 5.7-kilometre riverside road section in Tran Bien Ward, linking Bien Hoa City centre with Tan Trieu Ward, formerly part of Vinh Cuu District.
