Danang People’s Committee on January 19 approved the investment for the Cu De River road project, a roughly 5-kilometre route from Nam Hai Van Bypass to the interchange with the North-South Expressway in Hai Van Ward. The total investment is more than VND 1.38 trillion (about USD 52 million) based on current exchange rates.
The road will have four lanes for motor vehicles and include two new bridges, lighting systems, planting and comprehensive technical infrastructure. Construction is expected from 2025 to 2028.
The riverfront route will connect directly to the Danang Free Trade Zone.
According to a decision by the prime minister in June 2025, the free trade zone covers approximately 1,881 hectares, with areas for manufacturing, logistics, commerce and services, digital and information technology, innovation and other functional sectors.
Planned functional areas in the free trade zone are to be integrated technologically and digitally and closely connected with one another.
