Long Bien Park, previously known as Viet Hung Urban Area Park, covers 157,000 square metres on Van Hanh Street, Viet Hung Ward.
The park was left idle for many years. As a result, it was covered by rubbish and wild grass. Many facilities had severely deteriorated.
Last year, Long Bien District authorities decided to upgrade the park, spending VND100 billion (USD4.1 million).
The final work of the project is being sped up.
Many shelters are built at the park.
The investment focuses on upgrading walls, dykes, gates, the light system, green space and other technical infrastructure facilities.
The project completion is among events to mark the 20th anniversary of Long Bien District’s establishment.
