A 230kg bomb has just been recovered from a river in the central Ha Tinh Province, local authorities said.

An official at Thach Ha Military Command said that the bomb, coded MK82, was made in 1972 and dropped in the area when the US Army escalated bombing of northern Vietnam. The official also added that there likely remained a large quantity of unexploded ordnance in the area.
