Two fishing boats from the central province of Quang Nam have sunk, leaving 15 fishermen unaccounted for.

Two fishing boats from the central province of Quang Nam have sunk, leaving 15 fishermen unaccounted for.

According to initial information, fishing boat QNa-90129 TS with 54 fishing men on board sank at around 7:30 pm on October 16 when operating in the area which is some 370 nautical miles from the Southeast of Southwest Cay Island.

At that time, fishing boat QNa-90039 TS which was nearby saved 40 fishermen, but, 14 others remained missing.

As of 1 am today, October 17, fishing boat QNa 90927 TS owned by Tran Cong Truong, 42, in Nui Thanh District suddenly sank some 240 nautical miles off the coast of Quy Nhon City in Binh Dinh.

Fishing boat QNa 91782 rescued 38 crew, while the remaining fisherman Nguyen Duy Dinh, 63, remains missing.

Quang Nam authorities are cooperating with concerned agencies to search for the missing fishermen.
