Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to send VND115bn (USD5m) to support 10 provinces which have been heavily damaged in recent floods and storm.

VND25bn (USD1.1m) will be sent to Yen Bai Province. Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces will have VND10bn each.
Phuc asked local authorities to use the funding along with local budgets to deal with the aftermath of the floods in terms of repairing infrastructure, and buying seeds and livestock for people whose farms were damaged.
The results of the farmer support plan will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture and Development for further support.
Local authorities were also asked to support families of the deceased or still missing.
Phuc ordered the Ministry of Finance to send nearly 6,900 tonnes of rice to Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces which were severely damaged during storms and floods.
Local authorities could ask for more support from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs if necessary.
