Lost Spring, widely considered one of the most impressive works played in National Professional Play Stage Festival, tells the story of the depraved live of an actress.

The play was put on by Haiphong Art Play Troupe, and was a sad love story with the two main characters Dong Hai and Huong Xuan. Fueled by selfishness and pride, the couple commits a number of crimes, leading to a life of regret.
The character played by Huong Xuan, a young beautiful woman, is never satisfied with life because of a lack of money. She eventually starts supplementing her income by working as a prostitute, allowing her to afford a luxurious lifestyle. The male character, Dong Hai, eventually finds out, but is unable to make her stop.
Dong Hai is so upset with Huong Xuan's actions that he ends up strangling her, and is sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The play has been praised for its realistic dialogue. One of these most impressive scenes is between the hotel owner and Huong Xuan: “Come back to our hotel, it’s your stage. Here you act, and make up your face and get payed well," he said.
