Leaders of the province were waiting at the port to present flowers and offer congratulations to the Vietnamese team named “Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam”.

Josh Stickland, captain of the team, said that they were proud to be named after the Ha Long Bay, a famous World Heritage site in Vietnam.

The Qingdao team became the first team to dock at the port at 1:20 p.m. on February 18, followed by Zhuhai at 1:55 p.m.

This year, the event attracted the participation of nearly 400 sailors aboard 11 sailing yachts. They were divided into eight stages and 16 separate races, including six ocean crossings.

The Vietnamese destination is currently on the fifth leg within the Asia-Pacific Challenge.

All participating teams will stay in Quang Ninh until February 27 as they attend exchange activities and visit numerous beautiful places throughout the locality.
