According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), at around 5 am this morning, November 6, the eye of the storm was around 345 kilometres east of Luzon Island (Philippines).
Yinxing is projected to continue its northwestward path, then slow down and shift westward, passing over the northern coastal regions of Luzon Island before entering the East Sea.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has reported that Typhoon Yinxing has intensified to a strength of 13, with gusts reaching level 16. The typhoon would hit the East Sea on November 8.
Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Observatory has predicted the storm would strengthen in the next 14-24 hours and then weaken before affecting the East Sea.
Meteorologist Nguyen Ngoc Huy noted that Typhoon Yinxing could be the seventh storm to move into the East Sea this year.
Until now, the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting of Vietnam has not yet provided any forecasts regarding the typhoon.
