The Department of Performing Arts has just announced Huong received permission to attend in the international beauty contest. Huong, born in 1979, is well-known as a successful businesswoman who owns media company Nam Huong.
She graduated from the journalism department at the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, then shot to fame, becoming a professional host and emcee for television.
The mother of two sons also started an acting career. Now, Huong is busy in preparing for the upcoming competition.
Kim Hong, chairman of the board of CIAT Co., which is in charge of sending contestants to the pageant, was invited to be the chairwoman of the jury panel at the Mrs. World Pageant 2011.
The highest Vietnamese contestants have placed in the Mrs. World Pageant so far was in 2008, when Nguyen Dieu Hoa placed in the top 5. Hoa was Miss Vietnam in 1990.
First launched in 1985, Mrs. World is a global beauty pageant held annually for married women. The pageant highlights the power of smart and charming beauty in marriage and society.
Mrs. World Pageant was held in Vietnam for the first time in 2009.
From December 7, Le Khoi Nguyen, who won Mister Vietnam 2010, will come to Bangkok, Thailand, to take part in Mister International Pageant.
The male model, born in 1990, said he is ready for the international vying. Mister International Pageant was first held in 2006 in Singapore. In 2008, Vietnamese representative Ngo Tien Doan won the highest prize at the contest.
This year’s contest will take place from December 7 to 17.
