The traps were detected during 84 patrols of the peninsula conducted by the local forest management force.

During the January-September period, the forest rangers destroyed two illegal tents and rescued some wild animals, including those trapped.
Local authorities also detected forestry management violations and issued fines of VND35 million (USD1,458).
Service providers in Son Tra have been required to sign commitments on forest and wild animal protection.
