Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian zone to be closed on Tet

Hanoi will temporarily close pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter during the Tet Lunar New Year Festival.

Hanoi will temporarily close pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter during the Tet Lunar New Year Festival.

Hoan Kiem District authorities have announced that the walking area will be shut from February 9 to February 23 or the 30th of the 12th lunar month to the 14th of the New Year’s first lunar month.

The temporary closure is aimed to facilitate traffic during the Tet holiday.

The pedestrian zone around Hoan Kiem Lake covers Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Lai, Le Thach, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Le Thai To and Hang Trong streets. The area is closed to traffic from Friday night through Sunday midnight.

Pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake have proved popular during the holidays.
