The move came after some newspapers reported that the two officers collected between VND30,000-50,000 per day from each street vendor or stall and between VND 300,000-500,000 per day from people who performed on pedestrian streets in the area.
According to the board, they had carried out investigations following the media reports and found the violations.
Street vendors were banned from pedestrian areas around Hoan Kiem Lake in May 2022. However, many have complained that many are still operating.
