The USD2.20 billion Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant project is being built in Ky Anh Town with a capacity of 1,320MW.

Earlier in July 2023, VAPCO sent a proposal to Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee asking for a license to dump the waste mud over around 100 hectares some 22 kilometres from Ky Anh Town.
