According to the agency, more enormous boulders have just been found on the pass, blocking traffic while debris is cleared from the heavily damaged section.
Cracks have also appeared in some sections of the pass.
The Road Management Unit 3 has instructed the maintenance team to clear the rocks. Around 30 machines, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and transport trucks, are working around the clock to clear the debris.
The Khanh Le Pass area is still experiencing rainfall, complicating the ongoing clearing efforts.
Road Management Unit 3 has proposed declaring a state of emergency due to natural disasters for Khanh Le Pass to ensure traffic safety and aid in the landslide recovery efforts.
On December 15, heavy rainfall triggered severe landslides on Khanh Le Pass, with over 50,000 cubic metres of soil and rocks spilling onto the road. Currently, there are approximately ten landslide sites along the pass.
