Children of Vietnam Charitable Fund, founded by FV Hospital and Thanh Nien newspaper, has sponsored hand-surgery for 26 children from November 22 to December 3.
The children are from needy families in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Long An and Binh Duong provinces. They suffer congenital malformation of hands and tumors.
Some cases would need more than one operation and follow ups with physiotherapists.
Dr. Stephane Guero – a well known expert in hand-surgery from France and Dr. Vu Hoang Lien – a hand surgeon at FV Hospital, will do the operations at FV Hospital. The total operation fees are around VND700 million sponsored by Children of Vietnam Charitable Fund.
The fund has received donations from Lawrence S. Ting Memorial Fund, Liberty Insurance (more than VND400 million) and other donors. Children of Vietnam Charitable Fund raised more than VND1 billion this year for child surgeries.
