Both firms ordered lunches from the BAC Trading Joint Stock Company in Vinh City, Nghe An.
Food samples were tested at the National Institute for Food Safety Testing. The results revealed that the food poisoning was caused by histamine in fried mackerel scad and microorganisms (E. coli and Coliforms) found in several dishes, including stir-fried pickled vegetables with meat, fried mackerel scad, and stir-fried mustard greens.
BAC Trading Joint Stock Company also failed to provide a Food Safety Knowledge Training Certificate, health certificates for 5 out of 11 staff members directly involved in food preparation, and meal supply contracts for the two companies. Additionally, the company’s food processing area was found to have inadequate sanitation.
Nghe An authorities have suspended the operations of the BAC Trading Joint Stock Company.
