Up to 2.1 kilometres of the An Lao riverbank running from My Duc to Long Quang villages in Hoai An District, has eroded, threatening residents living along the area.
In Hoai Nhon Town, the dyke of the La Giang River has cracked and subsided, while the pumping station has tilted toward the river, affecting the water pipeline system.
In Van Canh District, landslides are at risk of spreading to residential areas. For example, the erosion along the Ngu Thuy River has impacted 140 households nearby.
Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, stated that local authorities have repaired landslide- and erosion-affected areas and provided support to help people stabilise their lives.
The province has sought the government’s assistance of VND76 billion to address the flooding consequences.
