Vietnam Airlines offers free transportation of donated goods to flood victims in the northern region.

According to the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, donated goods have been transported free of charge from airports nationwide to Noi Bai (Hanoi), Cat Bi (Haiphong), Vinh (Nghe An), Van Don (Quang Ninh), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), and Dien Bien airports since September 10.

The policy applies to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the people's committees in cities and provinces, the Vietnam Red Cross Association, and state charity funds.

The general director of low-cost carrier Vietjet Air, Dinh Viet Phuong, also said on September 10 that they would offer free transportation for goods sent by all individuals and organisations in and outside Vietnam to support people in flood-hit areas until September 20.

"We will also donate VND5,000 from each ticket sold between now and September 30 to raise funds for flood victims, which would raise an estimated VND 5 billion," he said.

Bamboo Airways CEO Luong Hoai Nam said that they were also launching free transportation of donated goods to flood-hit victims between September 11 and 26 on flights departing from HCM City, Danang, Cam Ranh, Quy Nhon, and Dalat to Hanoi.

Nam said, "We'll transport up to 500 kilos of donated goods on each flight during this time."
