According to the HCM City Transport Management Centre, Phuong Trang Passenger Bus Joint Stock Company (Futabuslines) has won the bid to run these 17 electric bus routes.
The environmentally friendly buses, which have distinct branding, will pick up passengers from residential areas, bus stations, high-tech zones, shopping centres, universities and colleges around Thu Duc and Binh Thanh districts, District 1, and others and take them to the metro stations.
The buses, numbered 153 to 169, have 30-60 seats each.
Futabuslines has built two charging stations for the electric buses in Thu Duc City.
The Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro project has a total investment of over VND43.7 trillion (USD1.7 billion). The 20-kilometre route includes three underground stations and 11 elevated stations.
