Hanoi honours 88 outstanding graduates

88 outstanding students honoured

Chu Hong Minh, chairwoman of Vietnam Student Association in Hanoi said this would be the sixteenth ceremony the authorities have held to highlight high-achieving graduates and the successes of the education sector.

24 students this year studied engineering, 22 in the management and humanities departments, 14 in economics, 12 in teacher training and medicine and 16 in branches of the military and police.

Many of the valedictorians are very active in the youth union and social activities, addressing social issues. 50 students had high academic scores and 38 with good scores. 47 have been admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Five students are both valedictorians in the university admission and graduation exams including Nguyen Phuong Anh from Hanoi University, Dang Thanh Duy from the University of Industrial Fine Art, Ma Hong Anh from Hanoi National University of Education, Do My Linh from Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema and Nguyen Thi Dung from the Academy of Policy and Development.

According to Minh, 186 students work at state agencies and the rest continued studying overseas.
