Hanoi to see 6,000 new low-cost apartments

Eleven social housing projects in Hanoi, totalling 6,000 apartments, are expected to be launched in 2024-2025.

According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, the city currently has 69 social housing projects either completed or still underway. Since 2021, 10,270 apartments from 11 projects have been completed.

During the 2024-2025 period, around 5,923 apartments from 11 projects are expected to be completed to ease the city’s housing shortage.

Meanwhile, 50 others would provide 57,170 additional apartments in the city from 2026 to 2030.

Hanoi is also considering a proposal to develop several social housing projects totalling 200 hectares and 12,000 apartments in the outlying districts of Dong Anh, Gia Lam, and Me Linh.

Three 19-story buildings at the Phap Van - Tu Hiep Student Dormitory Complex will also be converted into social housing apartments for rent from 2026.

The city has assigned the Department of Planning and Architecture, local authorities and the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Management Board to arrange 15 land plots for additional social housing projects, totalling around 2,000 apartments.
