Over the past two months, erosion has appeared in the banks of Da, Lo and Red rivers that run through Phu Tho Province.

In Xuan Anh Commune in Ha Hoa District, an one-kilometre section of the Red River bank has been eroded, affecting 14 local households.
Since late June, many households in Tam Nong District’s Dan Quyen Commune have been threatened by erosion at the Da River. Local authorities are building a dyke to deal with the problem.

Meanwhile, erosion on the Lo River has damaged a large area of crops owned by five households in Phu Ninh District’s Tien Du Commune.
According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the northern region would face more rain in the coming days. People living by rivers need to monitor weather forecasts to have preventive measures.
