Contention over incomplete Vietnamese maps on logos

A number of Vietnamese organisations have been using logos that depict the Vietnamese map without the Spratly and Paracel islands.

A number of Vietnamese organisations have been using logos that depict the Vietnamese map without the Spratly and Paracel islands.

Recent public concern was brought up over this issue when it was found that some products originating from China carried a map of Vietnam that does not include the islands, whose sovereignty has been a point of contention between the two countries.

Since the first reports, other products such globes, books, flower pots and even lanterns have come under scrutiny.

However many companies have simply ignored warnings from authorities about the oversight.
