A film entitled “Fate of a Songstress in Thang Long” won the prize for best film in 2010 at Vietnam’s Golden Kite Awards.
The award ceremony was held on Sunday at Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City.
The delegation of “Fate of a Songstress in Thang Long” received the award for the best film
“Fate of a Songstress in Thang Long”, or Long thanh cam gia ca, directed by Dao Ba Son tells about the sorrow and love of Great Poet Nguyen Du and his girlfriend named Cam, around the turn of the 18th century.
The film also was awarded prizes for editing and costume design.
Other films that were recognised with prizes included Canh dong bat tan (Floating lives), directed by Nguyen Phan Quang Binh, Vu dieu dam me (Dance of Passion) by Nguyen Duc Viet and Khat Vong Thang Long (Thang Long Aspiration).
The critics award for creativity went to Floating Lives.
Lan Ngoc also won Best Actress, and Vo Thanh Hoa, Best Supporting Actor for their roles in the film.
Luu Trong Ninh won Best Director for the film Thang Long Aspiration, and Vu Dinh Toan got the prize for Best Actor.
The prize for Best Supporting Actress went to Cao Thuy Duong, and Hoang Dung won the prize for cinematography for Dance of Passion.
