A spokesperson for Vietnam at the Miss Model of the World 2009 pageant revealed that Vietnamese contestant, supermodel Lan Huong is filled with anxious and depressed feelings as the whole of her $5,000 of cash has “vanished into thin air” without any trace.

November 14 was an unlucky day for Vietnamese beauty Lan Huong. It was then that she discovered all of her US$5,000 she had brought to the pageant had ‘vanished without a trace”. Although the Organization Board of Miss Model of the World 2009 pageant gave her support in trying to find and investigate the missing money, those efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.
Her anxiety over the missing money, along with the freezing weather in China and the continuous activity has made her health worse. However, Vietnam’s representative still shows her strength of mind and is determined to do her very best Lan Huong believes herself to be one of lucky Asian contestants who have attracted special attention from the media. 
Lan Huong said that all the contestants were provided jackets and attended the press conference in Zhengzhou on November 15. She and other contestants moved to Guangzhou today, November 16, to take part in the Evening Gown Competition. The winner of “Best in Evening Gown” award will be announced in the final performance which will be held at the theatre named “Window to the World” (Shenzhen) on November 28.
