Thuy and her two grandchildren

Thuy has been struggling with cervical cancer for 20 years. She has undergone many operations.

Her only daughter committed suicide in 2020 due to depression.

According to Thuy, her daughter showed depression after giving birth to two twin sons.

Following her daughter’s death, her son-in-law moved to the southern region to live, leaving his sons for her to take care of.

Every day, the elderly woman collects scraps earn some more money to support her two grandsons.

Three years ago, she faced a traffic accident, causing her serious injuries. She had to seek the support from her neighbours.

She and her grandchildren currently live on her modest salary.

Her grandchildren are facing the high risk of stopping their study due to the financial difficulties.

Local authorities have assisted Thuy’s family and called on people for support.
