The special tour has been organised by Binh Minh International Travel Agents, a reputable tour company based in Lao Cai. The tour will last for 2 days and 3 nights and will include Phan Xi Pang Mountain (often called the Vietnamese roof), Lao Cai City, and Ha Khau, China.

According to Le Anh Dai, the manager of Binh Minh International Travel agents, there are, as of now, 16 tourists from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City slated to join this special tour.

The first day, February 13, tourists will depart from Tram Ton and stop at O Quy Ho mountain pass in Sa Pa, spending Lunar New Year Eve at an elevation of 2,800 metres.

The second day, tourists continue their adventure and reach a height of 3,143 metres. After reaching the peak, they will climb down and enjoy a traditional Tet in Sa Pa with local ethnic minorities.

Day 3 will involve a visit to Lao Cai City which is near the upper source of the Red River. The trip will continue and cross the border to visit Ha Khau, Van Nam Province, China. After that, they will come back to Lao Cai and return Hanoi.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province will hold a competition to conquer the “Vietnamese Roof” by placing the Vietnamese national flag on its peak for the occasion of the 1,000 year Thang Long Anniversary.
