The tropical depression east of the Philippines has intensified into a storm internationally known as Trami, which will likely affect the East Sea in some days.

By 4 pm today, October 22, the storm's centre was located over the waters east of the Philippines, with gusts reaching up to level 11 and wave heights of 3-4 metres.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the storm would move into the East Sea.

From the afternoon and night of October 24, the eastern part of the northern East Sea will witness winds up to level 8 or even levels 9-10 in areas near the eye of the storm.

The north of the East Sea, including the Paracel Islands, will experience northeast solid winds of level 6-9.

All vessels operating in these areas would be at high risk of being hit by tornadoes, violent winds, and large waves.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has asked concerned agencies and localities to monitor weather forecasts and warnings closely, inform vessels operating at sea to proactively avoid dangers, and develop appropriate production plans to ensure people's and property's safety.
