VND1-trillion pedestrian bridge to be built over Saigon River
HCM City authorities have approved a project to construct a VND997-billion (USD40.81 million) bridge over the Saigon River.
The project starts from Bach Dang Wharf Park in District 1 and ends at the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in Thu Duc City.

The design of the bridge
The 261-metre-long bridge features a main span with a cable-stayed arch of 187 metres, a steel beam, and a varying cross-section width of 7 to 11 metres.
The bridge will have a lighting system, drainage, and other utilities such as lifts.
The project is scheduled to start in early 2025 and finish in 2027.
